Advanced Stainless Steel Tubing for Chemical & Petrochemical Applications

Built for corrosion resistance, pressure endurance, and long-term chemical exposure

Chemical and petrochemical tube selection begins with the process medium and equipment duty. TeCarve supplies stainless steel tubing for reactor connections, process-transfer lines, condensers, scrubbers and heat-exchange equipment, with seamless or welded construction selected around the project specification.

Material grade, wall thickness, joining method and surface condition should be reviewed together with the stated temperature, pressure and chemical exposure. This makes the tubing requirement traceable to a defined process service instead of relying on a generic claim of corrosion resistance.

Process-Media Review

Grade and surface requirements can be specified around the chemicals and cleaning agents identified for the line.

Reactor and Transfer Connections

Tube dimensions can be coordinated with reactor outlets, dosing lines and process-transfer assemblies.

Condenser and Scrubber Duty

Seamless or welded options can be selected for condenser, scrubber and heat-exchange equipment layouts.

Design-Condition Alignment

Wall thickness and construction method are confirmed against the temperature and pressure requirements supplied for the project.

Surface and Fouling Control

Internal surface requirements can be defined around product cleanliness, inspection and cleaning access.

Material Traceability

Material and inspection-document requirements, including EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 when requested, are confirmed at order stage.

Preventing Stress Corrosion Cracking in Chemical Plant Tubing

Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) needs three things at once: tensile stress, a susceptible alloy, and an aggressive environment (commonly chlorides, at elevated temperature). Remove any one of the three and SCC risk drops sharply. In practice that means: selecting a more resistant alloy when chlorides, high temperature, or other aggressive species are present — duplex grades such as 2205 resist chloride-driven SCC better than standard 304/316L austenitic grades; minimizing residual stress from welding, cold working, and sharp bends, with stress relief or annealing where appropriate; keeping chloride levels and operating temperature as low as the process allows; and designing joints and connections to avoid crevices and stagnant zones where chlorides can concentrate during shutdowns.

For process lines where 316L is marginal for the actual chemistry, TeCarve supplies 2205 duplex tube alongside standard 304/304L/316/316L grades — tell us the chloride level, pH, oxidizers, and temperature and we can help confirm the right alloy for the service condition.
