Food and beverage processing tubing needs differ by process stage — CIP/SIP-cleaned process lines, filling-line transfer piping, and dairy or brewing vessels each carry different surface-finish and cleaning-chemistry requirements. TeCarve supplies stainless steel tube manufactured to ASTM A270 and EN 10357 sanitary tube specifications, with surface finish and grade selected around the product-contact requirements and cleaning regime named for the project.

Industry-specific hygienic certifications such as 3-A Sanitary Standards or FDA-related requirements should be confirmed and verified against the applicable project specification — these depend on the end application and are not a blanket claim independent of the order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does TeCarve hold 3-A Symbol authorization for food-grade tubing?
3-A Sanitary Standards include standard 3-A 33 for metal tubing. TeCarve does not hold 3-A Symbol authorization. For dairy and beverage lines, we supply ISO 2037 and ASTM A270 tubing accompanied by EN 10204 3.1 MTCs and surface roughness test reports.
What internal surface finish is recommended for CIP food processing lines?
We recommend an internal mechanical polish of Ra ≤ 0.8 µm (180 grit finish) for standard food and beverage lines. This smoothness prevents bacterial adhesion and product buildup, ensuring cleanability during automated Clean-in-Place (CIP) cleaning cycles.
Can I order matching sanitary fittings with my tube order?
Yes. We supply matching sanitary pipe fittings including hygienic elbows, tees, and unions in grades 304L and 316L, ensuring dimensional matching with our tubing.
How are sanitary tubes tested and packaged for hygienic transport?
Tubing receives NDT per standard or order (eddy-current testing) with hydrostatic testing per standard or order. Finished tubes are fitted with protective end caps, wrapped with plastic film, and packed in seaworthy wooden crates to prevent contamination.
